While most people get their networking done through conferences or business meetings, Chris Schembra has his own formula for human connection: pasta dinners.

BOOK OVERVIEW

Forbes Magazine has just ranked “Gratitude and Pasta” as the #2 Book of 2020 to Create Human Connections.

This is the story of how a simple bowl of pasta sauce sparked over 400,000 relationships, helping some of the most successful people on the planet connect around the dinner table.

The epidemic of loneliness and depression among CEOs, executives, and founders is rampant, and yet, we continue to create and foster relationships in the same way we always have – with boring networking events that leave us more disconnected than ever.

Born of author Chris Schembra’s own disillusionment with success and his increasing sense of isolation, this book shares the journey of 7:47 Club dinners and how he used them to foster gratitude, empathy, and human connection in his life and in the lives of thousands of friends and colleagues.

This book will teach you to create and structure your own intimate dining events so that your guests will have an experience that will bring them closer together, and closer to you.

Conclusion

YOU WILL LEARN

➤ 51 % of the American workforce report being lonely on a consistent basis. Some of the most successful people on the planet are unfulfilled and disconnected, just like you and me.

➤ Just having dinner together is not enough. We must be intentional about creating a safe space for people to gather. Hosting dinners for your friends, clients, and partners is a new form of authority leadership and will help your social profile grow.

➤ The most successful people on the planet want to relinquish control and be told what to do because they have to make so many decisions in their daily life.

➤ There is a science and an art to gathering people. Networking is a thing of the past and connection is what people crave.

➤ People are tired of being asked, “What do you do?” People are craving being asked something deeper to create more meaningful connection.

➤ People would rather be invited into your home for dinner than taken out to the fanciest restaurant in town. A low cost, simple meal can have a greater impact than a high cost, fancy meal to create a genuine experience. The simple act of delegating tasks and asking people to work together to create the meal is the foreplay necessary to create a unified group dining experience.

➤ Providing good experiences is more meaningful than your product or your price in determining a transaction. Loyalty is cheaper than acquisition and it’s worth investing in the people you already know

Chris Schembra is a sought-after dinner host whose passion lies in facilitating profound human connection in a deeply disconnected world.

He is the Founder + Chief Question Asker of 7:47, an advisory firm which helps companies give the GIFT of community and belonging to their VIP clients and partners.  Having used their signature pasta sauce to spark over 400,000 relationships around the dinner table, their core hypothesis is that giving gratitude to others is the key to fulfillment, and ultimately good for business.

Currently, 7:47 is leading a year long study on how gratitude and empathy affect entrepreneurship and the values their companies stand for.  Their research revolves around a singular question, “If you could give credit or thanks to one person in your life, that you don’t give enough credit or thanks to, who would that be?”

Aside from 7:47, Chris is a Partner at OHenry Productions which both invest in and produce commercial theater. He’s led social campaigns with over 1,000,000 (million) participants, lowering the suicide rate among veterans with ptsd, and the projects Chris has been involved in have been awarded 14 Tony Awards, 7 Emmy’s and a Grammy.
